Danny's Wisteria

Sweet Iris

Shelley Picker has drawn and painted all her life. After receiving her training in oils and acrylics at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, she expanded her work to include fabric wall hangings. During this time, she was a studio artist, taught art and showed her work extensively throughout the country in galleries and museums. She served as the President of Artist Equity and was an advocate for the rights of artists regarding safety issues and gallery relationships. She also served on the Board of Collab, (the design section of the Philadelphia Art Museum) and worked as a consultant for the Museum. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Watercolor Society, and is a Signature Member of the Philadelphia Watercolor Society and the Baltimore Watercolor Society.

In the 1980's, Ms. Picker built a business in public relations and marketing. She was an award winning member of the Public Relations Society of America, the National Media Conference and the International Association of Business Communicators. She represented national and international clients and served as the President of the Philadelphia Public Relations Association, where she remains on the Board of Directors.

In the 1990's, Ms. Picker began to focus her energies on watercolors. Over the past decade, she has exhibited her work in galleries and museums, (both juried and group shows) and her work has been acquired by corporate and private collections. She is currently represented in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the Rosenfeld Gallery. Her paintings can also be seen at Riverbank Arts, Inc. in Stockton, New Jersey.
